Oxidation and unzipping in ELIUM resin: Kinetic model for mass loss

نویسندگان

چکیده

This paper gives a first study of the thermal and oxidative ageing ELIUM® resins. Chain ends unzipping was observed to be main degradation mechanism under nitrogen whereas an oxidation with random chain scissions is shown predominate in presence oxygen. A simplified kinetic model proposed fits experimental results for thin films at temperatures ranging from 230 310°C oxygen or nitrogen.

Kinetic barriers in RNA unzipping

We consider a simple model for the unfolding of RNA tertiary structure under dynamic loading. The opening of such a structure is regarded as a two step process, each corresponding to the overcoming of a single energy barrier. The resulting two-barrier energy landscape accounts for the dependence of the unfolding kinetics on the pulling rate. Furthermore at intermediate force, the two barriers c...

Force and kinetic barriers in unzipping of DNA

A theory of the unzipping of double-stranded (ds) DNA is presented, and is compared to recent micromanipulation experiments. It is shown that the interactions which stabilize the double helix and the elastic rigidity of single strands (ss) simply determine the sequence dependent ≈ 12 pN force threshold for DNA strand separation. Using a semi-microscopic model of the binding between nucleotide s...

passivity in waiting for godot and endgame: a psychoanalytic reading

this study intends to investigate samuel beckett’s waiting for godot and endgame under the lacanian psychoanalysis. it begins by explaining the most important concepts of lacanian psychoanalysis. the beckettian characters are studied regarding their state of unconscious, and not the state of consciousness as is common in most beckett studies. according to lacan, language plays the sole role in ...

Force and kinetic barriers to initiation of DNA unzipping.

A semimicroscopic model of the binding of the two nucleotide strands in a double-stranded DNA is used to describe the effects of applied tension on strand unpairing. We show that the model describes strand separation by elevated temperature, applied torque, and applied force. In particular, we show how the interactions responsible for stabilizing the double helix against thermal denaturation de...
